9 Must Have Fan Page Apps

When customizing a fan page its not just about the looks of the page but also the tools that you have.  Tools can shape what you are able to do and provide valuable information that can be beneficial to you as well as to your visitors.  One of the biggest problems is the countless number of tools and apps available on Facebook.  This can make it a little more difficult to dig through all of it in search of the few useful gems.  I will make your life easier by sharing nine apps that are perfect to start a new fan page or build up your current page.

RSS Graffiti

#1 RSS Graffiti

If you have a blog, twitter, or website where new posts and articles are constantly added, this is a great tool.  RSS Graffiti will automatically update any content to your Facebook fan page account.  This is extremely helpful so that you don’t have to waste unnecessary time linking your new posts and articles to the fan page.  Not only will this help to manage your time and spread the word about your new content through Facebook, but this app is also easy to set up and absolutely free to use.

Booshaka

#2 Booshaka

Booshaka is one of the best tools around to see who your top followers are for your page.  This information is invaluable as you are able to know specifically who your loyal customers are.  There is a difference between someone just liking your page and never getting involved and a loyal customer who likes your page, posts comments, and constantly follows the page.  This knowledge to specifically target and praise these loyal customers will promote continuous support on their behalf.  Also, you can hold competitions where you are able to track the top contributors and reward them for their involvement.  To publicly share that there are rewards for your top contributor could lead to further interaction from those who usually don’t post as there is a reward for those who share their thoughts frequently with the community.

#3 Static HTML

If you are web developer you can use this tool to create the content you want to be featured on your fan page.  If you lack the skills to develop, like myself, you can hire someone to build the content how you want it or you can use ShortStack as discussed in point 5.

#4 ContactMe

An easy method to add a simple contact tab to your fan page so customers can get in touch with you if they have questions, ideas, or concerns.  This can be an excellent resource to have available on your account as you want to handle some issues in private and not on your wall where everything is made public.

.

ShortStack

#5 ShortStack

Here is an excellent method to create a landing page if you don’t already have one.  Just to give you a heads up, the best reason to have a landing page is to drive more visitors to like your fan page so they can receive your updates, posts, and become a more integral part of the community.  It is a simple way to explain what your fan page is and to invite others to get involved.  What ShortStack does is provide templates for landing pages you can use and even tools that allow you to customize your own to a certain extent.  This is a great way to have a beginner landing page and it is free to use for newer fan pages under 25,000 Likes.

#6 Fan Appz

Fan appz has various apps that can be used for promotions, engagement, and publishing/track content.  It has consolidated a lot of the applications that people usually search for on Facebook when attempting to enhance their personal/business fan pages.  Though these tools and resources come with an undisclosed price as a service representative contacts you to find out specifically what you are looking for.  Some businesses they have helped are: FOX, ESPN, NBA, SYFY, etc.  They have experience and have helped some large brands build their fan pages successfully.

#7 Selective Tweets

If you are constantly using Twitter and have decided to use it for business purposes there is an app that allows you to post those Tweets on your page; however, you have the ability to select which Tweets are update to your page.  This means that you are only promoting what you want to on the page without bombarding your audience with constant updates and posts.

#8 FaqPage

Some pages may have similar questions or concerns that are frequently asked and requires a frequently asked questions page.  This page could nip common concerns, problems, or questions in the bud so you aren’t spending time yourself to resolve them.  The only downside is the fact that people who comment on the page searching for an answer and get a real response back feel great satisfaction in the service that was provided and will be more prone to respond later.  Take this under consideration if you decide to do a FaqPage.

Slide Share

#9 Slide Share

You can upload and share your presentations on your Facebook page using this.  These presentations can include videos, PDFs, documents, audios, etc.  Can be a useful tool for various fan pages that want to present some organized information to its fan base.

Are there any apps that I didn’t share that you are currently using? What apps have you liked or disliked on your fan page? Please share your comments below.  Don’t forget to Like Follow Fan Page to receive further ideas and tools on how to grow your fan page!
